Answer to the question of school security
Helping to solve school security issues has led to an established Grimsby company celebrating record sales.
Recognition Express, which specialises in corporate identity products, has just filed its best ever financial figures in 14 years of trading.
Record turnover has been achieved, while manufacturing has hit an all time high. And management have attributed the success to the simple but effective mixture of quality products and exemplary customer service.
A concerted and carefully targeted name badge marketing campaign aimed at schools, colleges and universities has also surpassed expectations. Just six years ago, the franchise had 30 schools customers on its books - that figure has now rocketed to more than 330.
The education sector, both locally and further a field, is now a significant part of the the total business portfolio, although the promotional gifts and signage sectors are also growing.
David Tector, sales & marketing manager at the company, said: "Now more than ever, it is so important that adults on schools or university premises are easily identifiable to students."
"Our badges are worn by everyone on the site including teachers, governors, lunchtime catering and supervisory staff, and of course visitors."
The company is based at Venture Business Park, off Gilbey Road, and in 2003 owner Alan John was named as Franchisee of the Year. The company works across many sectors, including healthcare, retail and industrial.
Mr Tector said: "A lot of our business success is due to us providing a quality product at a competitive price, supported by an excellent after sales service, but it is also very satisfying to know that a lot of our business comes from word of mouth recommendation."
